Overall Responsibilities
The Stationery Supervisor supervises the process for product re-stocking of shelves, maintaining planograms, promo planners, price changes, ad set-up and general cleaning and maintenance. The Stationery Supervisor is also responsible for the efficient operation of the shift, adherence to loss prevention policies and to maintain established company standards for store appearance, presentation and condition. This position has key holder responsibilities for accessing the store.
Job Description
Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for general merchandising and stock control.
- Assist the Stationery Manager to manage the sales team which includes training and development of staff.
- Assist with hitting sales target and implementing strategies to improve.
- Ensure Customer Service standards are upheld and assist the Stationery Manager with handling queries and complaints.
- Assist the Stationery Manager with managing the Wholesale division to ensure all orders (corporate, government and customer) are managed from the point of requisition to delivery with total efficiency.
- Assist with managing the drivers and entire co-ordination of deliveries and pickups.
- Assist with managing the stationery furniture division.
- Work with the Stationery Manager to ensure the store and warehouse bonds are properly managed.
- Assist with all local and overseas purchases by working closely with procurement and the supply chain team.
- Recommend new product lines based on customer and trend analysis.
- Ensure store is merchandised to maximize sales, clean and organized and ready for operation after each night shift.
- Ensure products are moved from receiving to appropriate sales floor locations.
- Ensure product is down-stocked from overstock/mid-stock to sales floor locations.
- Ensure proper labeling and organization of overstock/mid-stock as per company standards.
- Action procedures to maintain presentation standards, including current pricing, signage, plan-o-grams, promotional planners, ad set-ups and displays.
- Ensure that EAS (electronic article surveillance) security tags are placed onto all newly received products as indicated by company policy as required.
- Training, coaching and development of associates.
- Provide regular feedback to management on issues such as efficiency, discipline and performance of the night crew and provide input in performance evaluations of direct reports.
- Assist in the preparation of the sales floor for inventory.
- Model and ensure team properly secures company assets and physical inventory and follow all loss prevention and key control procedures.
- Have a complete understanding of all company policies and procedures related to this position, as outlined in the training checklist.
- Accountable to understand general company policies and provide guidance to staff as needed.
- Identify and communicate suggestions for improvements in all areas of business.
- Ensure the general cleanliness of workstations, lunchroom and washrooms according to company standards is maintained.
- Responsible for the safe and proper use of all store equipment and required to inform management of any maintenance issues regarding the equipment.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment and follow all company protocols for safety and also required to report any unsafe working conditions to management.
- As per policy, required to have personal parcels (bags, totes, backpacks, purses, etc. checked by a manager prior to leaving the store premises. This position is required to verify bag checks prior to leaving the station.
