Job Summary
As a Security Officer, you bring value to GKB by ensuring the security and safety of personnel, premises, and assets while also ensuring vehicles and equipment are operated safely and in compliance with site protocols. This role requires vigilance, strong communication skills, and strict adherence to all health, safety, and security procedures.
Job Description
- Guide and direct vehicle movement on site using standard hand signals and radio communication
- Assist drivers in reversing and maneuvering in tight or restricted areas
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of goods, including verifying that loads are properly secured
- Monitor blind spots and collaborate with forklift and heavy equipment operators to prevent accidents
- Conduct daily inspections of loading / unloading zones, ensuring clear signage, proper barriers, and hazard-free conditions
- Enforce site traffic management policies and report any instances of non-compliance
- Monitor site access points, verify identification, log visitor entries, and restrict access to authorized personnel only
- Ensure all personnel entering the premises are wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Conduct routine patrols of the site to identify security breaches, safety hazards, or suspicious activity
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies, and escalate according to established protocols
- Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access
- Other duties as assigned
