Job Summary
The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, staff management, cost control, and ensuring staff has compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. The Head Chef plays a critical leadership role in maintaining the culinary quality and reputation of the establishment.
Job Description

Key Duties


1. Plan and design menus in consultation with management, considering customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.
2. Supervise and coordinate all kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen assistants.
3. Ensure consistent high-quality preparation and presentation of food.
4. Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
5. Oversee inventory management and procurement of food supplies within budgetary constraints.
6. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
7. Train and develop kitchen staff, providing mentoring and performance feedback.
8. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction.
9. Handle customer feedback or complaints related to food quality professionally.
10. Maintain kitchen equipment and arrange for repairs or replacements as necessary.

Requirements




  1. Formal culinary training/certification (e.g., diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent).
    2. Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a senior kitchen role, including at least 2 year as a Head Chef.
    3. Strong knowledge of international cuisines (includes but not limited to innovative dishes for breakfast, brunch and dinner), kitchen management and food safety standards.
    4. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
