The Lorry Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods from production or distribution centers to various customer locations. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to manage delivery schedules efficiently.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Transport & Delivery: Drive heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to transport goods over short or long distances.


• Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.


• Loading/Unloading: Oversee or assist in the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring weight is distributed evenly and secured properly to prevent damage.


• Documentation: Maintain accurate driving logs, delivery receipts, and manifest paperwork. Ensure all PODs (Proof of Delivery) are signed.


• Compliance: Adhere strictly to road safety regulations, speed limits, and legal tachograph/driver hour requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Candidate must hold a valid driving license with class Motor Lorry (ML) 


• Experience: Proven experience as a Lorry Driver or in a similar logistics role.


• Physical Stamina: Ability to sit for long periods and handle physical tasks such as loading/unloading.


• Reliability: Strong track record of punctuality and meeting deadlines.


• Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of truck mechanics and how to handle minor roadside issues.

Work Environment

• Requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.


• May involve early morning starts, late finishes, or overnight stays depending on the route.
