Load Scheduling: Assign drivers to loads and coordinate daily schedules to maximize fleet utilization and minimize "empty miles."
Route Optimization: Utilize TMS and GPS software to plan the most efficient routes, accounting for traffic, weather, and construction.
Driver Support: Act as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing assistance with breakdowns, rerouting, and delivery issues.
Customer Service: Proactively communicate shipment status and ETAs to clients; resolve delivery delays or complaints with speed and empathy.
Compliance: Monitor driver logs (HOS) and ensure all operations adhere to DOT, OSHA, and local safety regulations.
Reporting: Maintain accurate digital records of all dispatches, fuel usage, and driver performance metrics for weekly management reviews.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in logistics, dispatching, or fleet management (preferred).
Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Logistics/Supply Chain is a plus.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency with TMS software (e.g., Samsara, McLeod, or Motive) and the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to negotiate and influence across different teams.
Problem Solving: Proven ability to make quick, logical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Geography: Strong knowledge of local/regional geography and commercial trucking routes.
Must be able to work in a high-intensity environment.
