Job Summary: The Accounting Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of administrative and financial tasks to ensure the effective operations of the Company.
Responsibilities:
- Completes a variety of administrative tasks to support the effective operations of the Company which include, but are not limited to, coordination of staff activities, record-keeping, tracking daily attendance of staff and contractors.
- Processes the monthly payroll accurately and in accordance with Payroll schedules and Statutory Regulations
- Prepares quotations and invoices accurately and in a timely manner in keeping with Company policy.
- Processes and follow-up on any outstanding receivables, all reconciliations, and queries are dealt with within deadline. Ensure that there are no past-due accounts and no balances that exceed stipulated time limitations and that all reconciling items are investigated and adjusted within the subsequent month.
- Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. Processes invoices
- Maintenance of bookkeeping records for audit purposes.
- Daily maintenance of the Company’s petty cash float.
- Maintenance of company’s receipt books.
- Ensure the accurate execution of monthly reports and submission within deadline.
- Assist in all activities to ensure accurate recording, tracking and status updated.
- Support the preparation of financial statements as per Statutory Regulations.
- Comply with Group’s processes and policies as set out and stated in Company handbook.
- Perform all duties in conformance with appropriate health, safety, security, environmental and Company's policies and procedures.
- Any other related duties, which may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Five (5) CSEC subjects including Mathematics and English.
- Level 2 ACCA certification or equivalent qualification.
- Knowledge in SAGE will be an asset
Experience
- At least three (3) years of experience in a similar position
- At least three years providing administrative support to senior management.
- Experience in the Media Industry would be an asset.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures and office practices.
- Or any equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.

- Detail-oriented, organized and flexible approach to work.
- Must possess analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
